The most common indications for\u00a0pre-implantation\u00a0embryonic testing:<\/p>\n
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]At our facility, we perform embryo examinations for indicated patients before embryo transfer, in cooperation with ART Sanatorium.<\/p>\n
The purpose is to reduce the risk of implanting an embryo with\u00a0an unbalanced chromosomal aberration or with\u00a0chromosomal aneuploidy (missing or excess chromosome)to avaoid failure of the\u00a0IVF\u00a0cycle, the\u00a0decision to terminate the pregnancy gue to genetic aberration. It can also reveal male embryos that are at high risk of manifesting a disease associated with the gender chromosome X if the mother is a carrier.<\/p>\n
The testing is performed using the\u00a0Array\u00a0CGH\u00a0method which is a relatively fast (result in about\u00a024 hours) and effective (all embryo chromosomes can be examined simultaneously).<\/p>\n
At IVF Center, the patient undergoes hormonal stimulation, oocyte collection. After in vitro<\/em> fertilization with the partners\u2019 (or donors\u2019) sperm and 72 hours of incubation,\u00a0one cell is gently removed\u00a0from\u00a0each prospective embryo. These cells are delivered by embryologist to our center under determined conditions. Afterwards\u00a0the DNA is\u00a0isolated and tested simultaneously with\u00a0commercially supplied reference male and female DNA.\u00a0A subsequent computer analysis compares the DNA profiles of the embryonic and control DNA.\u00a0The embryological laboratory is informed about the results of the test. The embryos with a significant gain or loss of genetic material are excluded from the rest of the IVF programme.
